those carbs look like genuine SU's i have a pair just like em, they arent the 240z hitachi copies.

i wouldnt mind the blinker switch, turning left is beginning to be a pain the the arse.

How do you like the true SU's?

when i was using them they worked better than the hitachi's. mine are the "emission" variant (NOT FLATOPS!) the needle is on a little spring but this doesnt effect performance at all. otherwise they are the same as a standard SU.

dont know why they were better than the hitachi, they had a crisper throttle responce.

I concur with BRETT240.

They look like genuine 1.75" SU carbies bought from MIDEL in Sydney (The linkages, filters and carbs are identical to mine).

I installed mine around eight years ago and have never looked back.

They came out of the box with the mixture correctly set and after the balancing improved my cars performance 500%.

But then again, my old carbs were leaking a bit of air around the throttle shafts.

Don't know how they compare to a set off new Hitachi round tops.

The diamond pattern vinyl is different between the 240z and the 260z (early) model. 240z has a larger diamond shape.

When I have a little time to spare I'll pull them off and check their condition internally. If they still seem to be pretty good I might give them a whirl on my car, see if they're any better than the round top hitachis (freshly rekitted and with very little play around the throttle shaft).

The filters are also identical looking to mine, which are redline.

If these SU's turn out not to work as well as mine then they'll be finding a home on my old motor, in the basher ute.
