If you watch on Ebay for a user by the username "datsundude", he still sells some of the early manuals, all new.

I've heard that there are certain model years of the manual that are getting very hard to come by now, possibly the 72 model year as there are still so many of them on the road.

You can still get copies of How To Restore Your Datsun Z-Car on Amazon the last I knew. Doesn't show much as far as mechanical, but might help with body disassembly.

How practical or feasible is it to have a 240Z as a daily driver?

Do any of you guys use yours daily?

I have had a 240z as a daily driver for, oh, the last 16 years or so, until my wife found out there was no baby seat mounting! I have just sold my '73 daily driver, and bought a '72 to go through with updates-the '73 didn't really need anything, so I bought a car that could come back on the road with my improvements, and sold the other to someone who would cherish it as I have!

A 240Z in good shape makes a great daily driver-but don't drive it like a little old lady-it can't compete with your 350Z in performance, but it may suprise you with an exhillerating drive to work that the 350Z just can't match!

Back to your inquiry about manuals, a JH HAYNES manual is a valuable resouce in addition to the FSM. I prefer my Haynes manual to a chiltons, but the Chilton manual does have a few photo's and diagrams that are quite helpful and not found anywhere else. Also the Parts CD sold by the club contains the complete Nissan Parts microfiche for 1970-1978 Datsun 240/260/280Z. It has great exploded diagrams of just about every system and sub-system in the vehicle, and the part numbers necessary to make sure you get the right parts ordered.

Another suggestion to go with Carls' info, consider the factory manual on CD from Courtesy Nissan-print what you need when ever you need it-I bought on for my 73, and am completely sold!

Welcome to the club! I don't see why a 240Z could not be used as a daily driver - keeping in mind how old it is. Maintenance will be an issue, just like any old car, but you can certainly push an S30 with amazing results. You are fortunate to have a classic car to play around with and a contemporary car to drive as well. Have fun!

I'm in Temple. Most of the Z guys I hang out with are from either here, or austin, or dallas.

There are a bunch of guys here with 350Zs that I hang out with, but I think I am the only one in my town with a 240Z.

Kinda makes me an original I guess. Hee hee.
