St.stephen Posted April 13, 2004 Share #2 Posted April 13, 2004 Not only is it a dash cap, it appears to be a half cap at that. Also look on the drivers side of the dash...its either a reflection, or its overspray from the door. looks like its missing the overrider on the front bumper as well. I'm not an expert on the 240 seats..and am not sure when the air vents appeared in the seat backs....
Zrush Posted April 13, 2004 Share #3 Posted April 13, 2004 More like "Diss". They make no mention (thank God) of that car being a Factory Restored car, so technically they can restore it as original as "They" think, but we know better. I really don't think they are asking too much. Rule of thumb, start high, some fool just might bite. Pretty nice little Z.Vicky
Bambikiller240 Posted April 13, 2004 Share #4 Posted April 13, 2004 I previously owned a 71 (HLS30-23313) and it had the breather buttons in the seat covers. The cushion on the console could be one of the "Factory Authorized" dealer add-on accessories.Regarding the driver side (actually both sides) of the dash and possible overspray..... I think it may reflection as a few other pictures show that area and it appears quite black. It's only the closest view that show that effectAlso looks like they painted the V. Reg cover and the Carb Linkage. :stupid: How can anyone call a car with a Dash Cap (especially a HALF CAP!) "Restored".Other than the things mentioned (by all of us), it does look like a pretty nice car. Now, let's see where the Reserve Price drops off. I agree, it does look nice. Other than the dash the things mentioned (wheel center caps, bumper strips, oil cap, etc.) are very minor to correct. I don't like the speakers in the doors but even that's not too bad. If it truly is rust-free I'd say the current price seems reasonable but we'll have to see what the reserve actually is before deciding that the seller is nuts. gema Posted April 14, 2004 Share #6 Posted April 14, 2004 Man, and I just flew to the site to post this...looks like I'm too late. I like the door speakers though. Anyone have ideas of how to mount those?
kenz240z Posted April 14, 2004 Share #7 Posted April 14, 2004 The throttle linkage, fuel & brake lines, hood bumpers, inspection lid cushions, door jamb light switches, etc...have all been painted the same yellow as the car. More of a custom look, I guess...When I repainted my '73, which by no means has been restored, I made sure not to paint anything orange that wasn't orange to begin with. NCLarry Posted April 14, 2004 Author Share #8 Posted April 14, 2004 I had sent a note to the seller pointing out some of the discrepencies and that he was calling it a restoration... nicely worded... was curious what the response would be.The reply...Hello. Thank you for pointing these issues. The reserve is set at $9000. Thanks. Alex.

Now that's to much IMO. The car needs to be a little more correct to even start at that price. It's a very nice Z but $9,000, I think not. We'll have to see what he finally gets. Maybe he is starting high (to say the least) so he can accept a lower bid:cross-eye Vicky
