I found this Roadster on eBay and noticed that the seller says the engine is a Nissan Z engine. It has a crossflow head, One Carb, and 2 plugs per cylinder. Could this be a NAPS-Z engine??

It isn't an engine that ever came in a USA market 240Z, that's for sure. I'm wondering if it came from a more modern Nissan car and was transplanted in the Roadster.

Did a Google search and found this info:

NAPS-Z engine, imported Z18ET or a modified domestic Z20, Z22 or Z24. The NAPS-Z is "basicly" an L-series lower end with an 8-valve, 8 spark plug engine, SOHC crossflow cylinder head. The NAPS-Z engine was used on the early 80's 200sx, HL510 and truck so is cheap and widely available

Having owned a 1981 200SX, I can also add that those engines were not much for performance and were designed for emission control. NAPS stands for 'Nissan Anti-Pollution System.'

Well it was basically an engine that was found on a sedan or 200sx and suffered due to having small ports. I believe there was a turbo version but at 100kw or something similar nothing exciting.

The roadster looks nice and clean dunno why they put a downdraft webber on it well it looks like one. Did they come with dual SU's like the Z originally?
