No Ohlone Fremont event this year???

It doesn't seem like there's going to be an Ohlone Fremont Z event this year, not listed in ZONC.org's calendar anyway. I heard there were too many 350Z's and not many old school Z's last year so organizers were bummed. Should we try to persuade them to host one? Lower the entry fee too so some of us with Z beaters or rust buckets can park together to show old school support!!!

Awe, that would be a bummer if that show was cancelled because it is literally up the street from my house. I went last year(with my old school Z) and there was a lot more new Z's than old ones, but I would expect that I guess. We have to do something about that or the show is never going to be there again. They should give a discount to the old school Z guys to get them to go. I don't know if that would be fair, but I still think they shouldn't cancel the show for that alone. Keep us posted.

You have a couple things confused. The Ohlone College event that occurred in 2002 and 2003 was Z's By The Bay one year and Z-Fest the other. It was put on by Ted Stokes at CLUBZ and Yuichi and Kyle at STRICTLYZ. It was not a ZONC event. The first year attendance was great for a first event and everyone had high hopes for it continuing. The second year was not as well-attended as was hoped. Who knows about a third.... I would not consider ZONC a good source of information concerning this event. ZONC has a long track record of not supporting or even advertising outside events. That is reason #'s 2 and 3. Here is reason #1:

Blackhawk is a ZONC event. I saw a flyer recently advertising another z-meet at Blackhawk for 2004. I think it is usually in June or maybe May also. For information on whether ZBTB will happen this year, I would check CLUBZ's or STRICTLYZ's websites.

MSA, Rio Vista, ZBTB and Blackhawk, all within 3 months. Then nothing until MSA the next year. Someone needs to put a show on in September or October or something.

I just spoke to Les at CDM. He will attempt to organize the Classic Datsun All Datsun Turfside event this year.

It has been my great pleasure to attend this event for the past 6 years. Unfortunatly, it was cancelled last year due to insufficent pre-registration.

Hopefully, this year will come off without a hitch. October just wasn't the same without it.

I would love to see that event come off again. I went the last four years (2 Surfside, 2 Turfside) and won the 'Best Vintage Datsun 1958-1973' with my 320. I really enjoyed the fact that it was basically all Datsun except for the ZXs. No Sentras, Stanzas, Altimas, etc. This year I would bring my 810.

Hey Victor, I thought you were joking. Now I remember seeing pictures that you posted of the event. I would love to go to this too if it was late this summer/early fall.

I am still not sure if I am going to attend the Z nationionals in long beach. I really want to, but I am taking a class during that time. I am sure it wouldn't affect my studies since I would only go for the Saturday show. Errr. How many of you LAer's going to the nationals? Convince me to go.
