Wow.

Calm down, everyone....

Giving the club the finger won't help, i'd guess- I'd be glad to help, but i know zippo about fuel injection- give me simple toilet carbs any day.

Do you have any manuals for the FI?

I'd *guess* its a AFM, or cold start valve, etc. But to be honest i have never worked on FI.

Have you tried the IZCC mail list www.zhome.com to signup. I bet Kim Blough in Idaho could fix you up in no time. May be worth it to try that.

Good luck, sorry you feel you've been jerked around here- but few of us have a clue about FI, and so wouldn't post a reply when we don't know.

You're still okay with me though-

Jeremiah

Usually, that happens when you have either a leaking cold start valve or a shorted open thermotime switch. Check the terminals on the thermotime switch for continuity when the car is warm. If it has contunuity it's bad and needs to be replaced. If it's good, then remove the two bolts that hold the cold start valve and lift it high enough to clear the intake manifold and place the nozzle in a small container. Again with the engine warm, start the car and check if you can see any fuel leaking into the container. If you do, replace the cold start valve.

No problem, Michael29, the f.i. system on the 280Z and the 280ZX are quite similar in fact the f.i. system on my 810 is probably identical to you ZX. If I can help with a problem that is similar to ones I have encountered with my cars, I don't mind sharing the info. We do have a few members with stong anti ZX feelings but that doesn't represent all of us. I find that amusing considering how many people have ZX parts in their S30s. But Z31s, 32s, 33s are another story alltogether!
