Posted April 23, 200420 yr comment_78326 The 1970 - 1972 240Z had 2 levers on the console, throttle lever and Choke lever. Whereas the 1973 240Z simply had the choke lever. My question relates to the choke lever. Did the 1973 240Z choke lever have a different insignia on the lever compared to the earlier models? April 23, 200420 yr Author comment_78336 I do have another question, however it may constitute a different forum...but anyway. The ignition switch on the 240Z, is it possible to recondition this unit, or do we have to rely on second hand parts?.This unit attaches itself to the steering column, and is essentially the device that the key ultimately turns. It is not the ignition "lock" but rather the unit that is affected by turning the key. It appears to be a "sealed" unit. I have sourced a decent second hand part, however when turning the ignition. occassionally the key gets stuck and becomes stiff, resulting in a fair amount of jiggling in order to start the car.
