v12horse Posted April 24, 2004 Share #1 Posted April 24, 2004 I know this is not Z related, but I thought you guys would like to take a look at this anyway because we are all car enthusiasts here. I have only seen a few of these 300sl's on ebay before and only seen a hand full of them in person. I would have to say that the 300sl of the 50's and very early 60's has to be one of the most beautiful designed cars ever. I like the gullwings even more, but this one is gorgeous as well. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=6338&item=2475215746&rd=1-Ben:love:
hls30.com Posted April 24, 2004 Share #2 Posted April 24, 2004 Very beautiful car, but for the same price you could have 10 of the most beautiful Z cars you could find-where is your head!Seriously beautiful car! Will
SMUSICMANS Posted April 24, 2004 Share #3 Posted April 24, 2004 :stupid: I just showed my dad this car and he told me his brother had one just like it when he was about 18. My grandpa bought it for about $1500. My uncle got sick of doing all the little things to keep it running and spending the money on it so he got ride of it for $300. My dad said he cryed for weeks when his brother sold it. It was the same charry red and eveything. I should send this too him, he would cry his eyes out too when he sees how much this car is going for.
Alfadog Posted April 24, 2004 Share #4 Posted April 24, 2004 Very, very nice. But for that price I'd be looking at something cooler... like a house. Are you sure it was the exact same type of car? Just that I didn't think the SL's were EVER cheap...
v12horse Posted April 24, 2004 Author Share #5 Posted April 24, 2004 Maybe he had a 190sl. Those were and still are a fraction of the cost of the 300sl. I agree with you there alfa, one cannot live in a 300SL. The square footage is very small for the price. heheheh, but man does it look good... These are highly prized cars of collectors and I would not be surprized if the price reaches well over 200k.
