Hi all,

I need some opinions. Tell me what you think of the existing classified section. You know, stuff for sale, stuff wanted, etc...

I would like to know if you like the existing "forum-based" classifieds where you can post messages and people can reply to your message.

Or, if you like the "real" classified type modules. A real module will allow you to post an ad, all kinds of pictures, and tell us more about the product you're trying to sell. It doesn't show replies to the ad, but, the seller can receive messages through the PM or email method...

Anyway, let me know what you think.

1) You prefer the existing forum-based ads.

2) You prefer a real "ad-based" module.

This isn't a poll because I don't want to get mixed up with all of that. I really want to hear what you think instead of yes/no answer...

Thanks in advance!!

I like the interaction fostered by the forum base-almost like a bunch of Z-nuts recently gathered in-say... a big parkinglot somewhere in California, talking about the extras they have no need for...

Anybody who just wants to list stuff for sale can still do that, but if you change the conventional version, the opposite is not true.

It is also good for the new members to experience the questions-and answers when evaluating used parts!

I think you sould use a combination, (might be a pain in the arse to code) I don't really like the way you have to post pictures as it is, (one picture per post), you should have like a normal ad system seperated by year/style (like 240,,260, 280, tub, sold or by year range...which ever) allow the user to post pics on the car in the ad, also make them fill out a short but detailed form about the car (engine, mods, and so on) and have a search function (might make it easier for buyers, sorry sellers) but also have a forum on the page so people can publicly reply and comment.

and we need to have an option that you can "delete" the sold cars, (basicly move them to a "Sold" folder. so people can still veiw the information and posts and compare past sales to something they are looking at.) I just hate finding an add and emailing the guy and have it be sold... I always get my hopes up

Just my 2 cents.

Probably hard to do it this way but it would be nice.

I prefer the ad-based module. I primarily use the "action in forums" on the home page. In some cases I find it is a for sale ad instead of a topic.

In addition if I post a for sale ad, I really am not looking for a discussion, critique, argument, or comments on the price etc.

If a person is truly interested in the item then he can PM me for questions, etc.

That way people not looking for that item need not get involved.

Just my opinion.

If you take away the discussion how is a buyer going to get advice from the club?

Example: Lets say your selling a 240Z with a bad case of cancer. How would I advise a new guy in the Z community what to do?
