240ZX Posted April 26, 2004 Share #2 Posted April 26, 2004 It's funny how people will tell you that something is in good condition (for it's age...give me a break) when it is really just worn out and or shot!!! Do they think that if they say it enough times it will become true or something!!! To me, they look like just another old pair of Z car seats that need work and are still pretty easy to find for next to nothing! Heck, I've got a pair out of my 1970 that are nicer than the ones pictured on Ebay. And when was the last time you heard of a 1969 240Z state side? Just my 2 cents worth. St.stephen Posted April 26, 2004 Share #3 Posted April 26, 2004 If I'm not mistaken the second pic shows reclining levers. these couldn;t be that early as there were no reclining levers until later.

I don't know of any registered as 1969's (there may be, but I don't know about them), but a couple of us on this board have cars BUILT in 1969. EScanlon Posted April 26, 2004 Share #5 Posted April 26, 2004 St. Stephen is correct. If you'll look you will note the seat sensor on one of them.Enrique
Bambikiller240 Posted April 26, 2004 Share #6 Posted April 26, 2004 Didn't the seat sensors only come on 73 240Z's and later 260Z's? Also the seat bottoms do not have the "strap" supporting system like early 240Z seats. What is shown is the "no sag" spring supported seat bottoms. They may have come out of an 1969 240Z, but the Nissan factory didn't install them in that car. RedStage Posted May 12, 2004 Share #8 Posted May 12, 2004 My seats are FUBAR! I am talking to the guy about them, and trust me they are much beter than what I have. They look like cloth seats to me...if they are I should be able to do a decent job patching them up.Do you guys think they are worth it?Thanks. They were advertised as out of a 1969 240Z, and those seats CANNOT BE original seats from a 1969, 1970, or 71 240Z.Looking at the seat mounts, I don't think they are from a ZX either, but who knows? ChrisA Posted May 13, 2004 Share #11 Posted May 13, 2004 Hey Gang, I have those style seats in my 72, they came out of a 1975 280. I know because I did it myself. No stock 240 I've ever seen had cloth cushions with vinyl edging. The 280 does. As far as the sensor goes, I removed and chucked it when I put the seats in. All the other 280 owners can chime in now. symon Posted May 13, 2004 Share #12 Posted May 13, 2004 Hi seerex,I don´t think that I would bother with this garbage. I think your money would be better spent getting your original seats restored. Maybe you could offer the seller 5 dollars for the seat & use modify them for use as bar stools !!
