Great pictures Ben!

Is it always sunny at your car shows over there??!! Can't you box some of it up and send it over here please?:classic:

That car you are describing as a Jaguar "D Type" is in fact the XKSS model. It started life as a D Type, but Jaguar re-bodied them to sell in the USA - so it kind of is and isn't a D Type but it IS an XKSS.

A guy who lives in the street behind mine here in central London has a British Racing Green XKSS which he sometimes takes out on summer Sundays. Its running open pipes with no silencers, and it knocks leaves off the trees in the street when he fires it up. Sets off all the car alarms in the street as he drives past, and even those on some of the office buildings too. Glorious!

All the best,

Alan T.

I have seen many of these cars on Alan De Cadenet's program 'Victory By Design.' What a tough job that man has! He gets to drive around the British countryside in some of the most pristine historically signifigant European sports cars.

Fun Fact: The owner of Sydney's Luna Park in the 1960's owned an XKSS!

I remember seeing a replica D-type once, that was incredible. And then last year when I had the chance to visit the Beaulieu Car Museum I saw a real one! Along with a large number of other fantastic cars in pristine condition. Definitely the best car museum I've ever been to... http://www.beaulieu.co.uk/

Vrrrrooooommmmm

Thanks Alan for the correction. I guess the XKSS is the street version of the D-type, no? I would love to see one of these cars setting off car alarms. I saw this one drive by and it sounded mean with the side pipe. The nicest car one of my neighbors has is a red Pantera and he only drives it once a month.

It is not always sunny at the car shows here, we were just lucky that day. Okay, they plan to have them when it is sunny. Hehehe, no boxing up the sun.

I have a few more, so I will post them this afternoon.

Thanks for the positive feedback,

Ben
