April 27, 200420 yr comment_78737 I've just removed my float/sender assembly and it contains much rust coating. As I can't place it into a rock tumbler (with sand) due to wiring and size, any thoughts on best way to remove scaling? (will post pic).I was planning on dremel with sanding attachment but figured I'd ask around. For $30 you'd have a new one that will probably last for another 30 years. Even if you remove the rust, there will be none of the original plating left that protected the metal from the normal moisture (condensation) that occurs inside the tank. It will start rusting agian in short order.Just my $.02 Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/11455-ohm-range-of-260z-fuel-gauge/#findComment-81432 Share on other sites
