April 29, 200420 yr comment_78941 Hey Nick, mine arrive on Tuesday! I bought them when the dollar was at about $US 0.765 so I'm happy. They are Tan, they have the metal vents and they look (and smell!) very authentic. Now I can start planning the interior refurbishment on Lance's old car! April 29, 200420 yr comment_79009 not sure if they are the same but these look very good.http://www.datsunrestore.com/catalog.htmlGoto the 240z section you should find them there.I am tempted to get them but I will need the underlying foam and I've decided it's only a bit more for racing seats so I put that poll up hehe.We will see in time but I am very tempted to go orig.Gav Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/11472-seat-covers-arrived/#findComment-79009 Share on other sites

I do notice that the pattern is slightly different up near the top on the sides of the headrest. Other than that I'm quite happy with the way they turned out. I'll post some pictures when I'm done with the rest of the interior. April 29, 200420 yr comment_79052 I got therm from here:http://www.classicdatsun.com/The guy I dealt with (Les Canaday) is very helpful. The seat covers took about 8 weeks to arive in Perth from L.A.The weekend was spend doing family stuff and I didn't want to be rushed during the visit of the museum. I hope it was a good day. I'm about to make membership cards for 10 supporters who have paid their dosh to Vaughan. I got mine from Datsunrestore. BUT I am not bad mouthing their seat covers. I'm going to keep the set I bought for my second (not so original) 240z. It's only because I am going for originality on my 1970 car that they are not the right ones. I have one undamaged original seat which I am trying to find a matching seat cover kit for.(Kats has inspired me to go that last 10%!!!) The datsun restore ones appear to be well made and they are $60 cheaper than classic datsun, but there are some detail differences from the original ones which I didn't realise until after I bought them, and I think the seat would look odd if I had one original and one datsun restore seat cover in my car. You may think I am being a bit over conscious of the detail. :classic: I have attached a picture of old and new top cover side by side. The areas I thought they differed from the original are: 1) some of the edge piping is missing. 2) The texture in the middle of the backrest and middle of the bit you sit on is quite different. 3) The vent holes in the backrest are larger and look very different. I'd really like to hear from someone who has classic datsun or MSA seat covers as to how close to original those seat covers are. Gav240z, how bad are the seats in your car? My seats that looked very worn out had most of the damage on the seat cover itself. The foam was reusable, but needed some minor repairs and extra padding. April 30, 200420 yr comment_79107 My seats arn't too bad but the drivers one is ripped on the side. I am not sure if they are the original pattern or not as they are not completely vinyl they are some form of material on the middle part where the vents used to be. Or at least I believe my car is a 72 and may have had them redone at some stage I'm not 100% sure. They feel a bit saggy too the foam may be alright but if I'm gonna restore them i want them to support me otherwise I'll go with Racing seats for sure.I'm told you can foam them up and achieve a relatively good feel in there but haven't confirmed for myself just yet. I'll try attach a photo but I'm afraid I only have a digital camera in my phone so it will probably not turn out so good.I think they look good in the car from the outside especially hence the reason I want to go original or close to. Clearly they are not an exact match. Lord help me if this is what I'm looking forward to when I replace my seat covers.
