May 11, 200420 yr comment_80552 How about trying to make one?Doesn't seem to be too complicated. Its a 2-3 mm thick sheet of hard plastic with some louvres in it and a couple of flat rubber doors on the rearside?Or perhaps it is more complicated than it looks? May 11, 200420 yr comment_80558 I've never seen one of these close up - mine was missing when I bought the car and there are not many of these in the UK. Can somebody please post a good photo and/or supply a dimensioned pattern please ? I presume that the surface finish is similar to that on the interior quarter panels ? Thanks. May 11, 200420 yr comment_80564 yere the basic shape is'nt hard to make but there are vents built into them to stop the fumes being sucked back into the cabin i was just wondering if there was any one reproducing them ..?doug Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/11478-early-z-hatch-inner-panel/#findComment-80564 Share on other sites
May 11, 200420 yr comment_80565 DougAs far as I can see the 'non return' bits' are the rubber flaps attached to the inside of the panel, so fumes can exit the car, but any fumes trying to get back into the car push the rubber flaps shut and stop the fumes. No more complicated than that.I'll post the pictures later on. I hope they will help.regardsAndrew Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/11478-early-z-hatch-inner-panel/#findComment-80565 Share on other sites
May 11, 200420 yr comment_80591 Your explanation is correct, Andrew. I don't have pictures of mine, but that is how it works. Louvers in the panel, rubber flaps in a steel frame attached inside. Please ask Santa to bring me a brand new one in Butterscotch ROFL Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/11478-early-z-hatch-inner-panel/#findComment-80591 Share on other sites
