I had no idea arizona laws were so tough on emissions! If you have a well tuned car.Dist cap, points, plugs, air filter, plug wires, carbsset correct, etc. you should pass.I talked to a buddy of mine(in arizona) days ago with a 74 MG.He had failed also.He was told by a local to add two quarts of denatured alcohol to a half tank of gas.He passed!!Maybe you can get some methanol at a racing go cart shop and try again.Although I suggest a major tune up as my first choice. It's always more fun when they run correctly.Let us know how it turns out. Have fun!! Daniel

add some water remover to the fuel ,about 2 cans to the 1/4 tank of gas, its the stuff used a lot in boating. this will hellp a lot . that is with a tune up , also set the advance to about 5 or 6 btdc. or even a little more retarded that will also help but will make the engine run hotter. get it to pass then set it back up right . Good luck

'73 and below require no smog in CA. and thank the government for that, my 240z would have never passed. but that made me lazy and i still haven't fixed my carb. problem. but anyway, i thought that CA had the highest emissions rules in the States, what's up with Arizona giving you a hard time?
