drunkenmaster Posted May 11, 2004 Share #15 Posted May 11, 2004 Im pretty sure yellow should go to your battery for permanent power while the red one should go to accessories power, which is only high when the key is turn past acc.It could be the other way around, my mind is a blank at the moment.Either way you could connect them both to 12V for testing purposes to see if the deck turns on, the only downfall of leaving it like this is the deck could be left unning while the car is off leaving one flat battery. TomoHawk Posted May 11, 2004 Share #16 Posted May 11, 2004 Dude--You should go to the Ppioneer website and download the owner's manual. that simple.
Datsun-Fever Posted May 11, 2004 Author Share #17 Posted May 11, 2004 I did, but it doesent say anything about where the yellow power cable goes after it connects to the player.
drunkenmaster Posted May 11, 2004 Share #18 Posted May 11, 2004 there are 2 manuals, user manual and installation manual. But like I said before, one will go to the battery and one will go to and acc. powered line.More than likely the fused one will go to the battery, and like i said also, if you put them both to 12V the unit WILL work for testing purposes. Datsun-Fever Posted May 11, 2004 Author Share #19 Posted May 11, 2004 I know, the yellow one goes to the battery but i am still learning with electrics, so i really dont know THAT much. I just thought that ,since the end of the wire has a metal end for plugging into somthing, their was somthing i just plug it into. The red one is plugged in just fine, well im just waiting for my 280z haynes manual, maybe that will help.
TomoHawk Posted May 12, 2004 Share #20 Posted May 12, 2004 Sorry, but I don't think the Haynes repair book will help you with the radio. even if it had radio info, it would be for the OEM unit. All you should need to start is a good wiring diagram.
