Rare custom SU intake

Recommended Posts

That really is an interesting design, it must be a most efficient way of reducing the power output of a Z published to date on the web. I don´t think I will be bidding !

I would have to agree with symon. It seems like you would need two tubes with smooth bends, one going into each carb, and two filters for any kind of efficency. I don't know about the air making that sharp left turn. Also, being brass, wouldn't that be kind of on the heavy side?:ermm:

The seller of that God awful contraption claims brass is not a metal. Looks like some type of marine application for a boat

Custom is not always better and this is your proof!

I do like the idea of getting the air from infron of the car instead of the hot air inside the engine compartment.

I recently bought a re-build kit from Ztherapy, and in his video, he shows a custom air cleaner he uses that gets air from the front of the car for the carbs.

I would wonder if that really makes a difference, but I would imagine Ztherapy knows enough about the carbs that if it didn't, they wouldn't do it.

But yes that custom design looks like sh!t. I guess the guy had it built and decided it did't work as well as he thought, and now wants to get rid of it.

Yes, but twin SU's on what kind of car? Are we to assume a Z?

Cold air boxes need to be engineered, man.

You want LESS conductivity, not more efficient conductors.

Fight, you brought your heavy metal to the wrong group.

Worst design i've ever seen.

Why would you say this? Take a look at the stock air box and you see that the air comes in from the front just as it does with this cold air intake and must pass the front carb before getting to the rear one. Seems like no difference as far as the air delivery to the front vs. rear carb to me. The only way around this is to pull the stock air box and put on something like the K&N or Ramaflo air cleaners that MSA sells.

these worked a lot better than stock filters, and when I extend the tubs right behind the grill the motor runs smoother, and gets alot more cold air. plus with all you guys talking mad $^!# about the design, the construction is about the same with all the stock filter.

but I love it how all you guys are writing back to this post. it's great
