hmm i could do that with an old split window bug and a torch LOL

no offence not overly impressed but if i was in their shoes why change a sales item that has a huge following , look at the 72 912 hmm very similar

You have to admit the 911 model was never a show stopper when it came to interiors. I would rather have the engineers spend the funding on the performance of the car.

They were always very raw, minimalistic and purposeful interiors.

Afterall would you drive a 911 for its coziness or for its performance.bacause if its luxury your after maybe you belong in the Cayenne. LOL

I think it would be great if porsche made a Limited Club Racer that was a stripped down base model 911 much like the GT3 but with the lowest cost of the lineup. Perhaps it could have an emphasis on handling and weight but not necessarily the monster power. I think it would definitly bolster the racing heritage that seems to be waining

Just a thought Ahmed.

Read the other day that the most popular(most sold) new 911 is the cab with tiptronic. Not exactly sending the people at Porsche the right message for building a light weight cheaper car.

I think the best bet is to buy an old 72 or so and make an RSR clone with a 3.6

Or build a modified Z with similar performance for 1/4 the cost!:classic:

"Or build a modified Z with similar performance for 1/4 the cost!"

I guess that's the conclusion that we all came to and thats why we all have zeds instead.LOL

Hey what do you guys think of the mechanical layout of the 911?

Do you think the rear engine layout is restricting to the development of the car?

I'd hate to be the one designing the 911 at porsche

you would have to always keep it retro, but somehow try to keep it fresh and competitive, without being different.
