Posted May 14, 200420 yr comment_81044 I am considering selling my 1972 240z that has a JTR mounted chevy 355 v8.**UPDATE**Ok screw it...first 4200 bucks takes this car...need money. Recently tuned...idles really really low now and sounds good...timing is DEAD on. Thanks to university garage (old german mechanics own you)**UPDATE**Motor:Rebuilt and garaged since 1980 less than 200 actual miles on motor/quadrajet carb (just aged)Displaces 350ci, bored .030 overNew Water PumpNew AlternatorNew StarterNew HosesNew Air Filter (chrome)New BatteryNew Holley Electric Fuel Pump and FPRNew Clutch and Pressure PlateNew Chevy camaro HO flywheel resurfacedNew Chevy Clutch Slave cylinder New Tilton Engineering Clutch Master Cylinder & Steel braided line.Engine bay painted heat resistant blackTransmissionRebuilt by Parker's Transmission a week ago, 91 World Class T-5 out of a camaro z28.Car is painted black primer and there is no rust, the body is perfect and ready for the overcoat color of your choice. An overcoat only paint job runs around 3-400 bucks. The interior is tan colored with very newly reupholstered suede seats. There is an aftermarket plastic dash cover that looks original and is in perfect condition, the carpets are in very good condition as well. The car has a custom driveline and is currently running and is super insanely fast. There is a temporary exhaust setup (chevy downpipe bolted to datsun exhaust) that will need to be changed at some point to add some power. The current power of this car is comparable to a newer mustang GT but after the exhaust I expect that it should be a bit faster.I'm in no hurry to sell this car but I'm open to reasonable offers and trades (motorcycle, sailboat)The car is registered till the end of 2004and currently located in Sacramento, Ca.I have a large folder of receipts for everything I have done that can optionally come with the car. What the car needs to be "complete"Better ExhaustOvercoat of PaintChevy to Datsun Speedometer linkage (although i do have the JTR speedo cable)Stereo (I have removed the datsun unit while i had the dash out)Maybe a better Radiator (currently runs at 180-185 degrees Farenheight (this was checked by a heat gun)Something to better hold in the batteryClean up my wiring (i'm no electrician but the car and accessories work) Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/11714-72-240z-with-chevy-355-v8-for-sale/ Share on other sites
