Pre-1978 Z Needed

I am not picky, I would like to get my grubby paws on either a 280, 260, or 240Z (no 2+2's though) for around $2,000.

(and I will be going to look at the Z in NJ if the guy is still selling it and has not be deluged with calls already).

I live in Northern Virgina and have L18 powered 620 pickup and a M20 powered BMW 325e, but my heart, mind, and right foot have always longed to engage with another Z.

I had a 240Z in college that developed the old frame rail rot and had to give her up as she was beginning to eat me out of cardboard box and tequila. There is this story about me, my Z, a long stretch of I-95, and an old BOC song that will forever stick with me.

I'd be willing to include the Bimmer in trade (for what it is worth).

I know that I am probably the ten millionth person to post that they want a Z around this price range, but the miracles of the internet continue to amaze me so I put my request before the electronic gods and goddesses...

Live Free, Drive Z...

Keith

I am willing to travel up to 1,000 miles and perhaps more if the right car warrants it...

Prefer carb model but won't sneeze at fuel injection if it it offered.

Body should be in good shape - mechanical issues can be dealt with, including electrical oddities (I've worked on British cars before, I understand the Prince of Darkness and his eastern relative the Samurai of Sunset).
