i see a 71 240z on ebay described with manual rack and pinion steering.( first time i've seen it on a 240) is this good or bad? is it customized?what kind of steering does the 240z have?(i've even seen power steering and brakes before never rack and pinion)

All the early Zed's have manual rack and pinion steering. Up until the 81ZX I believe.

odd that this person would describe type of sterring when it's the only kind available. no one else has ever described it as so in their description.it's like saying -dog for sale, four legs.another ? how come some 240z have a hood ornament and some don't? you would think that something so trivial wouldn't be an option.

I don't think the hood ornament was an option, they all had them. The one's that don't have them now is because the owners have removed them.
