Fuel tank ?????

Pretty sure it is flyer.

Rogersz: Who knows. All my vent lines are perished, but I can't get the bloody tank out to replace them. The bolts on the straps are very solidy corroded into place. :(

Hi all,

the picture in the first post ( flyer4100 ) is as stated a 240z style tank it differs from a later 75-78 style tank, in that the later tank is visually identified by the fuel feed and return lines being identical in size where as the 240 return line is smaller.

Interesting. Mine is a 74 (RS30000756), yet if I remember correctly the inlet and return lines are the same size. Then again....I could quite likely be mistaken. Or one of the PO's has swapped tanks for some reason. Nothing supprises me with my zed anymore.

Datto-Zed,

your Zed could have the later spec tank as it is the RS30 tank, as stated before the earlier style tanks where probably excess on the first few batches from AUGUST 73 on.

For your own peice of mind compare the fuel feed and fuel return lines( metal ) on the front right hand rail if they are the same size then your tank is probably original.

The ones on the rail are definantly the same size. The thing is, mine is an earlier chassis number than flyer4100's. His is 874, mine is 756. Maybe they were just going mix and match at that stage? Oh aint is fun having the inbetween car!

I think it is quite possible that 874 also has same size lines on the chassis rail as you and mayb an event has occured with the factory fitted tank in earlier days, the result being those who fittted the 240 spec tank did not know.

Howdy,

And yes I am still battleing the fuel issues that I have, Car falls fon it's face after a sustained full on run after the first 15 seconds of good pull, usually when at least 3/4 throttle. Has anyone else had lines that had blockage but still passed are via a blower on an air hose? the pressure just drops off at a sustained rev, I had a 7 LB pump on it and have it regulated down to 3.5 - 4 and it still works it's way to around 2 or 1 or even almost zero...

Shouldn't the pressure read a steady 3.5 - 4? I plan on dropping the tank, I am running a filter before the pump and before the triples...

I am ready to set the thing on fire.

But I'd more than likely run out of fuel! LOL

Also, is there any effect of having the return lines going to nowhere from the PO?
