I apologize, as I know this has been discussed before...but a search turns up every classified with the word 'shipping' in it!!!

I need to ship a car to Croatia. Krakevic uses calship when I send cars to Norway, but they will not ship to Eastern Europe. Anyone have any suggestions?

That's an old joke, about how you really can drive a car from NYC to Europe. Years ago, the soviets drove some trucks around the world that way, only using ships to cross the Bering straight to Alaska.

honestly try to get it as close as possible as in like germany or any country you could drive it home to sounds too simple to me i think i am missing something

The problem in shipping to Eastern Europe is that there are few carriers that will transport a vehicle outside of a container. Add to that that if you rent a container, park the car in it, the problem then becomes that they can't guarantee LEVEL (or within a margin) shipping. (You don't want the car to skid into the sides or doors of the container, and in order to modify a container for chains you need a special container or modify your own.)

That's been what I've been informed by my container agent.

If you can get LEVEL transport to Europe, try to get it as close to the destination and then have them truck it or drive it the rest.

Now, you by chance haven't sold your vehicle to a foreign individual that will / has / sent you a cashier's check for TWICE the purchase price? If so, or ANYTHING like it DO NOT SHIP THE CAR WITHOUT C O N F I R M E D PAYMENT!

Confirmed funds are where your bank HAS the money and not that they are processing your check / deposit.

I think you will find that the European port to Croatia leg of the journey is the hardest part to arrange, as Enrique has pointed out.

Strangely, you might find that a UK-based company can help you with USA to Croatia logistics.

I have personally used British Transit Ltd. for business-related logistics worldwide, and Karman Shipping Ltd. for private vehicle movements from Japan to UK. All three companies are well known and trusted over here.

I'm sure Steve hasn't fallen for this but it is a valid point. My dad was selling his Chevy Venture minivan and almost got sucked into a deal exactly as Enrique described. Luckily his business accountant alerted him to that scam. I don't recall where the "buyer" was located but it was Eastern Europe somewhere. I have heard Nigeria has a big scam running using stolen credit card numbers.
