I hope all of you will take a moment to read this. Many of you already know that Im very involved in Prevention of Cruelty to Animals. I've been involved as a volunteer and a foster home for animals for many years.

Im posting this here because so many need your few seconds a day to help! As we speak of humanity and being kind, let's take a moment to do what we can to help our furry companions and friends. Please, even if you don't like me....don't take it out on them...I ask --no, I beg...all to visit this site and help us to help those who can't always help themselves. No money is involved. Thanks from all of us!!

Hi Everyone:

The Animal RescueSite is having trouble getting enough people

to

click

on it daily to meet their quota of getting free food donated

every

day

to abused and neglected animals.

It takes less than a minute to go to their site and click on

"feed

an

animal in need" for free. This doesn't cost you a

thing. Their corporate sponsors/advertisers use the number of

daily

visits to donate food to abandoned/neglected

animals in exchange for advertising.

Here's the web site! Pass it along to people you know.

http://www.theanimalrescuesite.com/

Thanks to all......

Warmest Regards,

Elaine and Zel,

Sasha, Pudding, Snuggums, JC, Louie, Bird, RC, Rocky, Pebbles, Baby and Furlough

I am very hesitant about requests like this. Things that are too good to be true usually aren't true. My favorite evaluation site is BreakTheChain.org to stop junk mail. I checked this one out and it is legitimate. Their analysis is as follows:

There are a lot of people out there using charitable notions to take advantage of generous strangers. Generally, BreakTheChain.org recommends against responding to or acting on any e-mail message that claims you can help others simply by forwarding an e-mail (virtually all of these are hoaxes) or visiting a web site. But this one is one the few exceptions.

The Animal Rescue site is the newest addition to a network of charitable web sites run by CharityUSA.com. CharitiesUSA.com uses the marketing power of the World Wide Web to get corporate sponsors to donate in exchange for advertising. Proceeds generated by the site are used by the North Shore Animal League America and The Fund for Animals "to provide food and care to animals awaiting adoption or living in the animal sanctuaries."

Other CharitiesUSA sites include the Hunger Site, the Rainforest Site and the Rain Forest Site.

The e-mail message above to urge your participation is borrowed heavily from the slightly misleading message about the Breast Cancer Site. The message claims the site is having trouble meeting its "quota." The CharitiesUSA sites have no daily quota, though they do have goals. They each also offer an online form you can use to privately tell your friends about them, so you don't have to rely on this anonymous chain letter.

I'd also like to add that whether or not it is legitimate, I don't think this (a car enthusiast site) is the place for it. It's as annoying a those unsolicited phone calls about lower mortgage rates, satelite tv, etc.

Or the post could at least start with "OT" (Off Topic). This post offers no warning in the title that it's an OT post about animal rescue. In general I hate ambiguous titles that are intended to get everyone to read the post just to see what it says. Considering this one has "ALL" in caps it probably falls under that catagory...

Whenever I have time on my hands I go to the local animal shelter.

There's always something to do to help out.

The poor condition of some animals when they are brought in can make a grown man cry and I've cried on more than one occasion.

I sympathise with ElaineZ, however, I agree in prinsible with both mperdue and sblake01.

Perhaps Open Discussions forum with the O/T heading would have been more appropriate.

I tips me hat to you Lady ElaineZ.

Rick.
