May 27, 200420 yr comment_83000 lordbiotreeClick Gavins link in his post and then scroll down to the bottom of the linked page. My question is, wouldn't the air cleaner hit the hood? May 27, 200420 yr comment_83001 I suppose if you grew up around American V8's you might find twin SU's difficult to tune compared to a Holley. I have no idea how to tune a Holley myself so I'll happily stick to my SU's.I have no idea if the performance claim has any merit. May 27, 200420 yr comment_83005 http://www.classiczcars.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&postid=88767#post88767According to this thread, it sounds like the 4 barrel carb is inferior to the su's. I have only heard praises about the su's and considering that one of the members here has a Rebello 3ltr that has twin su's and has an output of 285hp speaks for itself. -Ben Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/11933-poor-item-description/#findComment-83005 Share on other sites

I'm not sure what all was done, but I believe they enlarged the diameter of the throats. But, anyway, as you state; SU's can supply high horsepower motors. Most folks would have no "need" to switch to a 4 bbl, or triples for that matter. Just one of those quirky mods that some people "like" to do. May 28, 200420 yr comment_83040 Tripples do look cool . There is a guy , Norm that runs 107MPH at 12.8 on pump gas and street tires with a pair of SUs. On a stroker . May 28, 200420 yr Author comment_83045 The reason i posted this is as stated many people have achieved good power from the SU's I have seen it myself. I have a friend with a very similar motor to the rebello one built.Yes the SU's are modified but to say that the Holley 4 barrel are better than poor performing SU's is a bit of a joke. However it does state for those who find the SU's hard to tune and poor on performance.Honestly you just need them to be set up right and they work wonders just like with any carb.I guess i don't want to see people doing this conversion thinking it's good because it's not an improvement as far as I can tell. June 22, 200420 yr comment_86073 Unfortunately, the previous owner performed this conversion on my 240Z. Why? I know not. While I haven't driven a Zed with SU's or Webbers, I can say that I'm not a fan of the Holley four-barrel carb. To me, Holley=old American muscle car--no thank you. I would much rather have the stock, or preferably modified, SU's or a set of nice Webbers. When I have the money, I'll upgrade to triple Webbers or EFI (possibly on a turbo engine swap).Jason TrippP.S. Why is this in the Tech Forum?
