You need to give us some more information.

Was the engine rebuilt recently? Did anyone do any kind of work to it? Has it been sitting for a while? Give us some more details.

For right now it sound like the timing could be off. And the smoke you see coming out of the intake is vaporized fuel.

It's a L28ET in a '72 240Z

the engine been sitting for awhile, not sure for how long..but it's have not been rebuilt. The engine just got install a week ago and it run 3x for 5min each 2 days ago. Also it run for a good 3 min today before it shut off by itself, then the smoke from the intake happen...

2 things , you are talking in code. Please include your location on the profile. I can deal with the english , thats no problem. Have you checked the fuel filters ? Are you running SUs or injection ? Is the car equiped with electric fuel pump and mechanical as well ? The "smoke " coming from the carbs could be from a lean condition caused by the filters being clogged . If when started the float bowls were full of fuel the engine might be able to run for a couple of min. before dieing. Gary:classic:

My 1972 240Z car have a 280zx turbo engine in it w/ fuel injection & pump and No, I don't think it have a mech pump. Fuel filter still look good. and it's still doing puff the magic dragon coming out of the intake. I ask some guys and he think it could be timing issue??
