what i'm looking for is the rubber that goes between the door and the glass. it not the seal that goes around the door, but a long strait stripe of rubber that touches the glass (i guess it's so that no water will get into the door, also when you roll the window down, it collects the water from the glass). does anyone know where i could get that for both sides? i would also need the same thing from the inside, but it's nor rubber, but a stretch of mesh (looks like a brush) that attaches to the side door panel. thank you for any info.

I think I know which one you are talking about and I'm quite sure you can get it from Motorsport Auto, and likely from Victoria British also.

I think its called a window squeegy.The inner brush piece is stapled to the door panel.After cutting the monster staples,I used holes they left in the panel as a pilot hole and used small screws.Make sure they are small enough to disappear into the brush so they won't scratch the window.Also I put a piece of tape along the edge metal edge of the brush strip to act as a reference guide before I removed it. The rubber "squeegee" that you want is only available by buying the complete chrome strip. It is available though.

The Inner "Fuzzy" Strip is only available if you buy the door panel. There are no doubt several sources out there, so you may be able to find something and make it work.

thank you, any idea where could i get the inner brush ? i looked all over the local junkyards, all their cars have them but in a really bad condition.

The inner brush is called a "wisker strip". You can buy these seperately.MSA page 107(Door Upper Moldings w/chrome strip and Door Panel Weatherstrips. Also Victoria British, page 18, items 9 and 10.

To remove the old wisker strips you must remove the steel staples (mark lower edge w/masking tape to assist in locating new strip). Place new strip in place. Mark and drill several small holes(I used stainless steel pop rivits) I believe they were 1/8" depends on size of rivit. Then pop rivit from fuzzy side of strip. The head of the rivit gets pulled in snug and cannot be seen and does not touch the glass. Makes a nice neat, better than stock, job!

P>S> DON'T drill the wisker strip! I used an awl to make those holes. Drill the holes thru the inner door steel first, fit the wisker strip and use an awl or sharp ice pick to make the holes in the wisker sttip adjacent to the holes you drilled in the inner door cover.

Sorry for the ps but I diden't want you to ruin a wisker strip by having the material wrap around the drill!

I think I would glue the fuzzies in with weatherstrip glue.
