Full kit. Dvrs and passengers floor, side strips, behind the seats and rear deck.

I'm not 100 percent happy with it though. Quality's pretty good but I expected better. Floor mats shift around, no way to hold them in place. Tried stick on Velcro without success. I may have received the worst of the batch. Don't write them off just on my say so, others might be happy with what they received.

Bitumen/Felt underlay was pretty good though.

When I pulled the OEM carpets out of my 260Z i wasnt very impressed with the multi peice "design" which sounds like what the Tru-Fit kit is copying?

I would much prefer a moulded one peice.

Halz that's real good, nice looking carpet. I agree with drunkenmaster, be good to get a mouled one peice.

Could maybe some real tough glue hold the carpet in place? If i went through an upholsterer would it be more likely to fit properly and not move do you think?

An upholsteror will measure your car and the carpets will fit exactly. My rear deck carpet is very snug and does not move at all. The front carpets 'latch' onto the metal retaining tabs under the seat and they don't slide either - the underlay also stops them from moving.

There should not be any need to use glue to hold them.

I have a tru-fit set in my Z. It was a 7 piece set or something, but it fits badly behind the seats because it isn't moulded to the shape of the floor. It just kind of bunches up and looks messy. In front of the seats fits good though, and the side bits under the sill plates are average. I made my own covering for the rear out of a really thick bit of material that matched the carpet. Just carefully cut it to shape. The piece supplied in the kit wouldn't fit due to a sub box in the back glued in, so it is still rolled up in the cupboard.

Yair Scott, that's the same kit I bought. As I said, quality's not to bad but I'm not happy with it.

The reason I went for the multi piece kit was that I went to a lot of trouble to find vinyl with a diamond design to fit over the drive shaft tunnel.

I'm seriously considering buying carpet to do the job myself.

I'm going to get mine done one day soon after i get some tyres on it and get the engined balanced and what i am thinking of doing it to get the carpets moulded so that they conpletely go over the footwells and then also get some mats made up and have those too. Would this work and what do you guys think??

I won't be doing my carpet for ages yet, i'm just getting in the research now so i can plan the job on the car.

has anyone bought any kits since the post??

I need new carpet for my 240z but id really wanta keep my vinyl original...so i dont wanta cover it with carpet..

I'd like to fit a kit myself but if the finish would be better taking it to a upolstier(spell?) and getting it made up id do it.
