June 6, 200420 yr comment_84203 You're right, I was sloppy! Perhaps C stands for CUMBERSOME? Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/12044-trying-to-idendify-wheels/?&page=2#findComment-84203 Share on other sites
June 7, 200420 yr comment_84219 Does anyone know if these come in 114.3? Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/12044-trying-to-idendify-wheels/?&page=2#findComment-84219 Share on other sites
June 7, 200420 yr comment_84229 Whoa 240zdragon, those are Hailbrand mags, or they are accurate copies for a Shelby Cobra. Those particular wheels are knock-offs. I am really not sure if they come with bolt patterns, let alone 114.3mm at the hub. They would probably look pretty mean on a Z, but there are other wheels that would look great as well. Why don't you try to find some Watanabe's for that aggressive look that you are going after. They would look great with the 432 Flares that are on your prototype sketch. Some 9j in the rear and some 8j up front, with a phat negative offset, and all gunmetal.:devious: The Watanabe wheels would be very Initial D-ish as well, just for the enthusiast in you. I agree, Initial D is a great anime. I was glued to my comp for a week after buying the whole set of 10 DVD's. June 7, 200420 yr comment_84281 What is the difference between the two? I want 432 fender flares for sure, but there's a company that makes wide body panels that look pretty cool too. The rims in the sketch are Vision Hi-Revs. They were the closest thing I could get to 114.3 in Import Tuner magazine. How good do you think the 5-lug conversion is? June 7, 200420 yr comment_84290 I am really not the guy to ask about on the 5-lug conversions, but there are plenty of people running wheels with 5-lugs. You should ask one of those guys. Coung has a five lug conversion, I think. As far as Watanabe's vs. Panasports, it is really a matter of taste. I like the look of both, but I prefer the look of the Watanabe's. They are a lot harder to find state-side, but they are period correct, well made, and a great looking wheel. Marc (280z) has a 75' Zed with some great looking panansports. Good luck on your Z. June 7, 200420 yr comment_84312 Thanks for the help V12, I'll have to ask around and see if 5 lugs will be worth my time and money. (they sure as hell will up the kudos with the guys at work) Watanabe has a website right? June 7, 200420 yr comment_84317 www.rs-watanabe.co.jp But it's all in Japanese so it can be a mission to find things if you don't speak or read Japanese, I've navigated around it several times so if you want to know anything inparticular let me know and I'll probably be able to find it Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/12044-trying-to-idendify-wheels/?&page=2#findComment-84317 Share on other sites
June 7, 200420 yr comment_84327 Go on yahoo or any search engine and type in babblefish translation. You can translate websites as well as copy and pasted phrases. The translations are not super great, but they are much better than characters. June 7, 200420 yr comment_84330 Babelfish @ altavista.com Is one. World Lingo Translator Is another. However, the important links on the RS-Watanabe site are image files so the translator doesnt help tremendously Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/12044-trying-to-idendify-wheels/?&page=2#findComment-84330 Share on other sites
June 8, 200420 yr comment_84337 You guys are cool. I had Babblefish in the bookmarks and didn't know it until my wife said something. :stupid: I was going to put it in for everyone else. I got caught up with trying to figure out what they were saying and you guys beat me to it. I guess great minds think alike when they own Z's. I really like the Gunmetal/ Black rims that look just like the ones on Tak's AE86. They will be pretty expensive I see. These might have to be the very last thing I get because all the money I spend now will be going to the engine and restoring the car back from rust. (wife likes to play around with the faces) Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/12044-trying-to-idendify-wheels/?&page=2#findComment-84337 Share on other sites
