Listed as 1971, But Truly is a 1970!

Check this one out: They guy has it listed as a '71 when it is actually a -70!! Very good price for the vintage and condition!

The last known 1970 VIN listed at www.zhome.com is HLS30-11618. This eBay car is HLS30-17864 which was probably manufactured in Dec 1970 or Jan 1971.

That's very interesting to me. It has the 20 mph speedometer, rear vent grills and "240Z" logos on the rear pillars, that I thought were only on '70 240's only.

Take a look at this:

You'll notice that the design changes were introduced gradually. There are no strict cutoffs. There are even plenty of cases where there are overlaps in model years. I have a very early 1972 car which was built before some 1971 cars.

Those items are to be found on the cars that were ( more or less ) on the cars built up to the end of the calendar year 1970 cars plus a few in Jan 1971, not just the registration year 1970 cars. So as Mike says it would be a 1971 year car but probably manufactured dec 70 or Jan 71.
