Posted June 8, 200420 yr comment_84452 I've seen pictures of the deck in the 432, which has the spare tire well deleted. Does anyone know if there is a different / larger fuel tank than a typical S30 below this flat deck? The reason I ask is, I want to delete the spare tire well from my Z. This will, of course, leave a gap above the part of the fuel tank that thins out to avoid the spare tire well. I realize that even the 432 tank is different, I'm won't be finding any at my local junk yards but, it would be nice to get some pictures. June 8, 200420 yr comment_84459 I know that the fuel tanks for the installation you are discussing, alien-e, are different - yes indeed. I understand that they are somewhat custom fabricated. Alan T. "HS30-H" is going to be the best source here. Try looking in his gallery . June 8, 200420 yr comment_84461 432 tanks were exactly the same as those in the 'other' models. Its the 432-R tanks that were bigger ( 100 litre, to homologate them for race use ) and this meant that the spare tyre well was deleted. The 100 litre tanks were also used on the Works 240Z rally cars, and later on a 120 litre version with rear filler was used. Deletion of the spare wheel well meant that the spare tyre holding bracket was relocated to the ribbed filler panel, and the spare wheel / tyre took up rear luggage area space. June 9, 200420 yr Author comment_84485 Ah, thanks for the help guys.I suspected the deleted spare tire well would be for the "R" version of the 432. Doesn't make sense to take up the luggage space with a tire for a consumer model. 100 liter tank, eh? Well, I'm not planning on moving the filler neck to the rear, so I suppose I must custom fabricate something for my application. I also plan on moving the spare above deck, or just leaving it out completely. June 9, 200420 yr comment_84524 You should be able to find a fuel cell that will fit the space perfectly after removing the spare tire well. Plus you won't have to worry with those damned vent lines anymore, also.
