Sorry that you lost money on the wheels, Wayne.

Like any tool, it is only as good as the data that is input. If the calculater is set up wrong, and gives a wrong cost, that would (I believe) be grounds for a winning bidder to back out of the sale. It's not the bidders fault that a seller F's it up anymore than it's the seller's fault if the buyer doesn't confirm costs before bidding to win.

With the option to include a handling fee there is no need to "pump up" shipping costs by exagerating the size and weight, though it can be done. All I as a winning bidder care about is the bottomline shipping cost. If it's too high IMO (for whatever reason) I pass; if it's reasonable I bid. I will always hold sellers to the shipping that is quoted. I can't think of one reason not to do so.

My experiences as seller of small items has been that the Shipping Calculator is quite accurate for USPS Priority Mail.

I have been selling some items on ebay lately, so today I went to the post office to ship them and the postal worker explained to me a way I could have saved money; she talked to me about the flat rate postal service. It is 5X8 thick envelope that cost $4.05 to ship as long as it fits in the envelope regardless of weight. I will use flat rate from here on out on items I know will fit into the envelope to save the buyers money. I believe in the pay it forward concept in hopes that people I buy from believe in the same. To be honest with you I stay away form guys like Reddat on ebay. The reason is they usually sell items that you can buy at the dealer at a mark up. Guys like Reddat are the reason Motorsport got involved ebay. Saul was at our Z club meeting last month with Abram. He said MSA was surprised that people were over paying for items that they sell and how much more people would pay, so they moved Abram over to the internet sells department and have him listing parts on ebay. I would buy from MSA, Nissan, Classic Datsun and any other fellow club member.

I also have stopped buying from that seller. I never had an issue with the small parts I received but the freight charge would be $8.00 - $10.00 for an item with postage on it for $2.35.

I'm personally a big fan of the-z-connection who has excellent items and will enclose cash to make up the difference between actual shipping and billed shipping if I am overcharged. I have him marked as a favorite seller..

Hey Montezuma, the USPS also has a flat rate box (8 1/2 x 11 x 4) that costs only $8.10 no matter how much it weighs. I use it all the time.

Cool, I will keep the in mind. I always want to keep shipping costs down for anyone willing to do business with me.

Well add this one to the warning he not only overchages on shipping he also steals the boxes from the United States Postal Service..Ie he turns the boxes inside out than he wraps them in white wrapping paper and tape...So when I recieve them from the Postal Service I have to pay for the box.....because my post master is not an idiot....This guy needs to banned from Ebay and I will on Monday have the pictures to prove it...Also another one to watch out for is doing the same crap BTW their both from Texas.....
