Luggage strap colour

Does anyone have a 240z with the original luggage straps still fitted? I'm interested in finding out the correct colour the straps should be before I replace mine. My current straps are silver-grey so I'm guessing the original colour is either that, black or tan (my car has a tan interior with black carpets).

Or maybe someone has a '73 brochure which shows the luggage compartment in sufficient detail..?

My 240Z luggage straps were black. (currently light black from sun fade).

Back in the day when I bought my first Z (a 73) the straps were a nice fairly dark black.

First two Z's had black interior w/ black straps. Current Z has White interior w/ black straps.

I got my set of luggage straps from a guy wrecking a 74 260 with the white interior, straps were black, they were black in my 76 260 2+2 as well.

All three of the Z's I have owned had black luggage straps. 70 Red/Black int., 72 Red/Tan int., 78 Blue/Black int.

Where is a good place to find these straps? I know VB probably sells them but was hoping for someplace a lil cheaper.

Later ones must be color matched. My '78 280Z has a brown interior, and brown straps.

They show up on e-bay quite often.

I do not believe that they are available anywhere in new condition. EBay is your best bet as Mark says, but you'll find that the sets that are in good condition are not cheap. Snipers abound!

I have heard of people just re-dying their old ones if everything else is in good shape.

Polish the buckles and dye the straps. I dyed mine with black shoe dye and they came out pretty good.
