Posted June 15, 200420 yr comment_85190 Hey Guys,I was wondering if anyone had a rough idea on the power increase or effects of putting trumpets on my Triple Webber L28. I have been told that they do in fact make more power/torque depending on the length of the trumpets but as such i havent actully talked to anyone who uses them. Also, what do you use for filters? Oil Socks? Thanks Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/12215-trumpets/ Share on other sites
June 15, 200420 yr comment_85201 I'm not sure of the power increase, but I did notice a difference in the idle and exceleration once I installed the trumpets.A buddy of mine races Z's with mikunis like mine and he is the one that suggested I get some. They affect the air flow into the carbs by making a smooth transition into the carbs. As to filters I installed the trumpets in a set of K&N filters. The intake is short enough to allow filters that will let me do that. There are some foam filters that can be stretched over the trumpets, but they get dirty fast.Good luck. June 16, 200420 yr comment_85257 Have a look at the pipercross filters at www.sumidel.comThey'd cuit your application well. I think ITG (?) have setups like that too. Other wise filtersocks will do the job. Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/12215-trumpets/#findComment-85257 Share on other sites
June 16, 200420 yr comment_85271 A general rule short ones give better acceleration-use in autocross, rallylonger ones give more torque- circuit racing Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/12215-trumpets/#findComment-85271 Share on other sites
