On my 72 there is an inline fuseholder for the elec. fuel pump behind the fuse box. It requires a 20amp fuse. Your is probably the same. You just may need the fuse to power up existing pump wires.

Mine also runs without a safety cutoff. Something I have been meaning to get to. Seems every Spring when I get it out of storage I keep forgetting.

I was talking to a guy who works on cars for a living. He says all the vehicles now come with an inertia fuel cut off safety switch.

I have a Ford Tarus. I think I will check if mine has one, what it costs.

from the Holley web site:

"Wiring the switch through the starter solenoid circuit energizes the pump on engine start-up. After the engine is running the switch continues to provide power to the pump as long as there is oil pressure to keep the switch turned on."

In the diagram the Normally Closed(NC) connection on the oil pressure switch will send power to the relay that trips the fuel pump, once the motor has pressure the switch will use the Normally Open(NO) connection.

I have been running a R-X7 pump for over 3yrs with no problems. However saying this , the wireing was cobbed up by the PO and the pump ran any time the ignition switch is on. Not a good situation . If you look back by the tank where the fuel line comes from the tank , look for two wires rolled up and taped with blue tape. These are for a electric pump. There on a '71 through at least '73 which is what my car is. The PO dident bother with the stock wires on my car and ran his own and tied it to the hot side of the ballest resister, NOT THE WAY TO GO. I am going to wire my car , when I reassemble it , with a pressure switch at the oil pump sending unit by using a tee . Go your local parts store and ask to look at there book on pressure switches and fine one that closes about 7Psi . Run the power to one side and the other to the fuel pump relay that will turn on the pump. Sorry but I cannot find the part numbers . Gary
