June 25, 200420 yr comment_86465 It sure seems heavy. It looks great but it adds alot of waight.:tapemouth Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/12335-your-opinion-on-this-front-air-dam-sweet/#findComment-86465 Share on other sites
June 25, 200420 yr comment_86471 Too modern looking. Just not period correct for the first gen Z IMO. The few pounds of weight a fibreglass spoiler would add is really not an issue on a street car but that opening in the front makes me think of . . . Honda. June 25, 200420 yr comment_86472 It does kinda remind me of Fast and the Furiouse.... Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/12335-your-opinion-on-this-front-air-dam-sweet/#findComment-86472 Share on other sites
June 25, 200420 yr comment_86477 I think it would look better if the "bumper section" was thinner, like the original 240 bumpers. The way it is just looks too fat. Other than that, I think it looks good. June 25, 200420 yr comment_86486 Well, I'm going to go against the grain here and say I like it. But 160 pounds does seem quite heavy. You'd really have to be careful with that air dam. Could do alot of curb surfing with that one. It is kind of "in your face". June 25, 200420 yr comment_86494 I like air dams on Z's, but this one is much to heavy and squared-off for my tastes. It looks like it belongs on a ZX.FWIW. June 25, 200420 yr comment_86502 160 lbs is the shipping weight, not the actual weight of the air dam. that includes all the packaging. Looks wise... without sideskirts down the sides it doesn't really match up with the rest of the body. Look at picture 2, it looks a full inch or 2 lower than the door sides.... It breaks up the lines of the car. The last pic shows it as well. I'd find a smaller one. June 25, 200420 yr comment_86506 doesn't do it for me. Every few years someone makes a new part to make early z's look 'modern'. Every few years later they end up on a car on ebay and we all laugh at them and someone has to pull all that crap off and make it look like a Z again.Whale tailsTurbo mirrorsblacked out chrometurbine wheelsShag Carpetside skirtsring any bells?I think this ends up on the same pile.my 2 cents.BW Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/12335-your-opinion-on-this-front-air-dam-sweet/#findComment-86506 Share on other sites
June 25, 200420 yr comment_86507 I'm a big fan of the simpler ones like the BRE front air damn. Have you looked at those? they just seem to go more with the styling of the car.http://www.classicdatsun.com/new/432front.JPGI wouldn't do the whole BRE package, but I do like the air damn. June 25, 200420 yr comment_86510 I like this particular one better:http://www.zcarparts.com/store/merchant.mvc?Screen=PROD&Product_Code=50-1409&Category_Code=7AD1 It still has the "thick" style bumper look, but it sits closer to the car, more flush look. It doesn't protrude out from the front of the car as much, so it's less noticable.
