June 27, 200420 yr comment_86649 Oh, forgot to add a comment in regards to choice .. whoops. :stupid: Initially my choice was with the SSR MkIII's however, after playing around in Photoshop I came to the conclusion that the VOLK Racing rims looked a lot more aggressive and a lot nicer. Having said that, I'd still probably go with the older styled rims if having to choose from the three provided. My true preference however would be to hold out and wait for some RS-Watanabe rims, $1,000+ spent on other rims is $1,000+ that could be saved to attain something a lot nicer looking, more period correct and a 10x better than anythign else. Keeping in mind I have a RS-Watanabe addiction. Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/12358-wheel-decision/?&page=2#findComment-86649 Share on other sites
June 27, 200420 yr comment_86653 when i was trying to decide.http://www.classiczcars.com/photopost/showphoto.php?photo=11314&password=&sort=2&thecat=998I photoshopped it obviously, They are Simmons FR17's only problem is everyone has put these on a Z and other old skool cars in Australia. However I might have to ditch the Superlites i have on the car for the brakes I would like to fit.Gav, Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/12358-wheel-decision/?&page=2#findComment-86653 Share on other sites
June 27, 200420 yr comment_86655 Kyteler, nice job on pictures. One thing Victor hasn't told us yet, what diameter the new wheels will be? The old were 14", the new 15",16", 17"?I think no bigger than 15" for old school look (ok, maybe 16"). Many more tire choices at 15, 16, & 17. June 27, 200420 yr Author comment_86657 Michael, You are a frigging photoshop artist! That is so cool. The red wheels look better on the green car than I had thought. But, I agree with you, The Bronze TE37's do look agressive. although, You have to take in account, your photo retouch on the TE37's, look like the diameter is more like 18's, than the 15's I plan on.The grand saved for the real-deal Wats is another thought I had as well. But I can't find a importer/distrib in the U.S. I wrote RSWat, I wonder if they will reply? That 15'' S30 set up they have on the web site looks awsome! June 28, 200420 yr comment_86715 About the Volks, Victor. They look very similar to the stock R32 GT-R rims. I just found a picture while having a look around Yahoo Auctions Japan and thought you might appreciate it, the R32 GT-R rims are 16" I believe. Anyway, I'll let the picture do the talking! August 7, 200420 yr Author comment_90109 Update - Tomorrow I'm off to a shop to possibly buy a set of SSR MKII's They are brand new and Bargan priced. They have silver centers. Ok, here's the scary part and my questions, They are a pair of 15X7's and a pair of 15X8's, all with a 0 offset. Will the 15X8's fit the rear of my non-flared, Non-coilover car? What size tire should I get, seeing there may be a fittment issue, 215/45's? August 8, 200420 yr Author comment_90206 15X7 0 offset and they are beautifull! they are currently decorating my living room. I noticed that I'm going to need a set of tapered lugs, any suggestions? I better get locks too! They are all 7 inch wide. Tire size suggestions? I think I'll get another set of the Sumotomo's the roadster is wearing, They pretty sticky. I think I want something wider than 195/50's. Don't know if I'll sell the Pacer Sports or not. There is that one fella that keeps chasing me around at the shows to sell them to him.
