August 8, 200420 yr comment_90208 That is awesome Victor. Old school JDM rims are the best. I think you are going to love them. Are the centers pink? I think the pink wheels look great with the polished lip. Have you seen the Sakura cherry blossom wheels? A lot of them have the pink and silver finish. They look great like the MKII's wheels. Take some pics for us. Congratulations again on the wheels. August 8, 200420 yr comment_90243 One thing to consider is that your car isn't lowered... if you go with too short a sidewall, it's gonna leave a lot of space in the fenderwell. One a 7 inch wheel, a good rule of thumb is not going more than 2 inches wider than the wheel with the tire section width. You shouldn't have any interferrence, but the wider the tire section width, the more likely you'll end up with a slight scrub either in the rear at the inner fender lip, or at the front at the front of the fenderwell while turning. Personally, I'd go with either a 205, 215 or 225 in either a 50 or 55 series. 55 series will have a slightly taller sidewall, but you'll also have a slightly improved ride with the taller sidewall. Even with 15 inch tires, the choices on sizes is slowly dwindling.... August 8, 200420 yr Author comment_90265 My car is lowered slightly, with the MSA springs. So far, I'm leaning toward a set of Donlop 8000's in 225/50/15Dunlop SP Sport 8000 spec page Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/12358-wheel-decision/?&page=3#findComment-90265 Share on other sites

August 11, 200420 yr Author comment_90649 You wanted photos? SSR MKII 15 X 7 0 offset with 225/50/15 Falken Zeix 512's. Just back from Pepe's Tires, Where they were so nice. I cringed at the air impact wrench, so they broke out the torque wrench to put me at ease. Well worth the $20.00 tip. August 11, 200420 yr comment_90662 Hey Victor I'm surpised they actually work quite well maybe it was the red centre's I didn't like on the photoshop examples. They are still not what I'd like on my Z but they do look good. BTW Ben I like your quote from Mr Morita Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/12358-wheel-decision/?&page=3#findComment-90662 Share on other sites

August 11, 200420 yr comment_90669 Gav240z said: BTW Ben I like your quote from Mr Morita Thanks Gav, I took it out of a Old Timer magazine. He owns a beautiful 920 gold 432. He is the original owner! That quote says it all. Victor, you are going to excite the daylights out of every 86 enthusiast and owner when they see your car with those wheels. I like the odd color Gav. I only think the red/pink would look good on a car of a neutral color like grey, silver, white, or black. Take care, Ben p.s. Take a look at this site and you will see what I mean about the pink centered wheels and a beautiful white Z. BTW, the wheels are Sakura cherry blossoms (I am pretty sure that is what they are called). http://datsun30.hp.infoseek.co.jp/ Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/12358-wheel-decision/?&page=3#findComment-90669 Share on other sites
