June 30, 200420 yr Author comment_87093 Oh, dont mind that thing behind it. I just needed to use something to prop it up. It wasn't intentional at all :cheeky: :cheeky: :cheeky: Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/12428-can-you-read-japanese/#findComment-87093 Share on other sites
July 1, 200420 yr comment_87109 Alfadog,Your green sticker says:"Kodomo kotsu-jiko kara mamoro".Translating this in the sense that it is meant:"Let's protect kids from traffic accidents".Kodomo = child / children.Kotsu-jiko = traffic accident(s).kara = from.mamoro = protect. Cheers,Alan T. Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/12428-can-you-read-japanese/#findComment-87109 Share on other sites

July 1, 200420 yr comment_87115 In the order that they appear in your pics: "Semai Nihon-o naze isogu" ( Japan is small - why be in such a hurry? ) "Skyline kara no teigen" ( Suggestion from Skyline ) "Kuruma no tabi gommi-wa mochi-kairi masho" ( Take home your litter from your driving trip ) I think the first one was part of a petrol company campaign around the time of the 'Oil Shock' ( urging people to slow down and save petrol ). The others are safety and anti-litter campaigns. Did you get any of the "Safety Driver" condom campaign stickers Lachlan? July 1, 200420 yr Author comment_87122 ROFL Can't say I did Alan, just a whole heap of Skyline stickers and a couple of "We are hover fan!" ones from a hover craft club of Japan The one with "Japan is small - why be in such a hurry?" also has NISSAN CLIPPER written on it, and a King Kong on top of (what I thought was) the Eiffel Tower. If it's about fuel saving, perhaps it's King Kong on an oil rig. That makes (marginally) more sense! Thankyou so much for the translations!!! July 1, 200420 yr comment_87133 Originally posted by Alfadog .............and a couple of "We are hover fan!" ones from a hover craft club of Japan Can we expect your Skyline to be wearing a skirt soon then??? Ah, CLIPPER - that explains it. The Clipper was a light truck ( originally part of the Prince range ) with a distinctive 'face'. I think the sticker was part of the promotion for that model. Its definitely about saving fuel, and safety too. Nice stickers! Cheers, Alan T.
