My 76 z was running ok when I bought it 5 months ago but since then it started acting weired. At first the car will start then when it warm up and I shut it off for 15min then the car will be hard to start and sometime it wont start. The car is stock. I changed the ignition wires and coil but it still the same. I checks for fuels and sparks their both ok. I didn't change the spark plug but I think it still ok. Any suggestion?

I had put in a new rotor and ignition wires. Today I check the spark plug and find out that there sparks after the coil. There also spark after the disturbitor. But when I hook up the spark plug there no spark. When I put the spark plug next to the body the spark will jump but if I pull the plug away from the body I do not see the spark jump thru the spark plug gap. Could it be that my spark plug are bad?

Today I took out the spark plug and it turn out that 4 sparks were out. Now my z is working ok. but I still have a problem when it warn up and then I turn it off for 15min. When I try to started it up the Idle would be at 500 and it seem like it gotta die.

Any suggestion?
