somecreep Posted July 2, 2004 Share #1 Posted July 2, 2004 1977 Fairlady Z RHD on ebay. Looks kinda rusty but how often do you really find one of these in the states? This item has already been relisted at least once. If it doesn't get sold this time around, they probably are going to turn it into a cube of indiscript blue scrap metal.... http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=7907520268&category=6783
Bambikiller240 Posted July 2, 2004 Share #2 Posted July 2, 2004 Some things are meant to die. This looks like one of them."there is only ten of this cars in the US." - How does he know? Did he check the DMV of every state in the US? :stupid:

Corganx33 Posted July 2, 2004 Share #6 Posted July 2, 2004 2+2 with a bad description... I think the bid price might be how much he pays you to take it off his hands....
sblake01 Posted July 2, 2004 Share #7 Posted July 2, 2004 If, as the seller says, "there is only ten of this cars in the US", it's time to reduce that count to 9. ROFL
v12horse Posted July 2, 2004 Share #8 Posted July 2, 2004 I agree with you Remy. Save this car from the crusher. If you want to see beautiful examples of 2/2's, take a look in Brian Long's book, " Fairlady to 280." Maybe some of you will change your tune. They are going to be come extinct, or very rare if we keep this mentality of 2/2's being the lesser car. OMO,Ben
abas Posted July 3, 2004 Share #9 Posted July 3, 2004 Originally posted by v12horse Save this car from the crusher. OMO,Ben But there has to be a point where you say that it might be too far gone. Ed said it, 'more holes than Swiss cheese'.Sure you MIGHT be able to save it if you have a donor car and you are a very keen welder. This kind of argument takes place in the UK for z's, not many were imported and so many have been scrapped that there are very few left. Some people will now try to save ANY z- car that comes along purely because there are so few left. My humble opinion onlyAndrew

OMO,Ben For me, it has nothing to do with it being a 2 + 2. A car, any car, in this condition would require so much work to bring it back and I think that the time, effort, and money would be better spent on something else. Like and earlier Z or a Silvia. Bambikiller240 Posted July 3, 2004 Share #11 Posted July 3, 2004 I didn't base my opinion on it being a 2+2 either. For me it's purely about economics. Time and Money that would be necessary to turn this matchstick back into the Giant Sequoia that it once was.
Ed Posted July 3, 2004 Share #12 Posted July 3, 2004 My parts car looks like this. Every nut and bolt is rusted. There isn't a piece of sheetmetal that wouldn't need patching or replacing. It took me twenty minutes to get one horn off and I broke a bolt. The amount of work that this fairlady needs and what she would be worth in the end just doesn't justify it. IMOMaybe find a donor 2+2 and convert it into a fairlady using whatever you can from this poor lost soul.
