Datsun-Fever Posted July 3, 2004 Share #1 Posted July 3, 2004 Hey guys, my Z has fallen to a bad case of rust in the floor pans, and that ended up getting on my carpet, as well as dry rot. I see that MSA charges an assload of money for a new kit, so do you guys have any alternate ideas? i hear people have taken their carpet to home depot or whatever and they can get somthing very close to the original for alot less than MSA. Also, any alternatives to weather stripping? thanks alot.-Mike

kenz240z Posted July 21, 2004 Share #4 Posted July 21, 2004 Check this link:http://www.auto-interior.com/datsun1.html#240ZLooks like they have 2 kits for a 280Z: One with wheel well and shock covers for $232.95, and the other withouth the wheel well and shock covers for $160.95.I bought a carpet kit from them for my '73 240Z, and it looks great. The only things lacking are the slots towards the rear edge of the front carpet pieces that help hold the carpet in place; however, this area isn't visible, as it is under the front of the seat. Also, I transplanted the firewall snaps and they hold the carpet in place.Hope this helps!Kenny P.
