Posted July 5, 200420 yr comment_87486 Has anyone researched, attempted or completed this swap? I keep hearing that the motors (L24/RB25DET) are distantly related (same bore centers, for instance). So I would think that the motor/trans would swap with a minimum of effort - likely the same mounts, possibly requiring a custom tranny mount. Considering that it's a carb'd car, the wiring would be minimal - just find a place to mount the ECU and run the harness - pretty simple, compared with later cars. This setup would be a killer one - 250+hp stock in a 2300-2400lb car, with a redline of 8500rpm and a matched five speed gearbox. I am really considering doing this swap, so if anyone can fill me in on if it's been done before and any other considerations, I'd really appreciate it.Thanks Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/12481-am-i-nuts-rb25det240z/ Share on other sites
