Posted July 5, 200420 yr comment_87525 So I've been waiting 2 years to get a 240z ever since I was an Idiot and sold the 280z... I finally located one about an hour away from me in Iowa. The Body was solid and *mostly* rust free and the engine just burned a little oil. Needed some work, but thats ok! its only 1k and I could do some work on it over the next month and get it working... (Here is Murphy's Law), I get my loan for it...yay! but on my way home from work... my car DIES! like, engine fuses and won't move....great, now I probably have to replace the engine and 'darn', so much for the 240.... July 5, 200420 yr comment_87537 Same thing happened to me about 15 years ago. I bought a cheap motorbike and rode to work on that while I saved up to get the the daily driver fixed. Still got the 240z. :classic: Hope you find a way to still get the 240z.Andrew Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/12486-murphys-law-and-one-shitty-day/#findComment-87537 Share on other sites

July 5, 200420 yr comment_87565 CAUTION:If you took out a SECURED loan, i.e. the title of the Z in lien of the loan, then you MUST buy the Z or be in default of the loan.If on the other hand you took out a SIGNATURE loan, then it's on your honor to pay it back.2¢Enrique Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/12486-murphys-law-and-one-shitty-day/#findComment-87565 Share on other sites
July 6, 200420 yr comment_87628 A little off topic, but anyway...The first car I ever bought via a bank loan was my 1978 280Z in 1983. It was listed in the NADA guide with a loan value of $4,750. Wish I would have saved a copy of that page. Ahhh, the good ole days. Bought it off a guy that was selling it to by a Corvette. His loss was my gain!Vicky Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/12486-murphys-law-and-one-shitty-day/#findComment-87628 Share on other sites

August 8, 200420 yr Author comment_90244 Actually I took out a secured loan (using the cash not the car) just to get my credit up... (give them 1000 and they loan you a 1000) should have been more specific. I'm actually going to pick up the 240z tomorrow!!!!! Im SOOOOOO excited!!
