So, has anyone noticed the similar look of the Infinity G35 Coupe and the 350z ?! Let's also not forget the similar look of the Audi TT model which came out a few years ago.

Are car manufacturers losing their creative spirit? Do they need to copy each other just to get something interesting on the market? Or, do they all perform the same studies and come up with identical designs? It really makes you wonder.

Yep, I saw the infinity the other day and that's exactly what I thought. Just the shape of the side window is almost exactly the same shape!

btw, doesn't Nissan own Infinity? Maybe it's going to be built in the same platform? Maybe we'll have teh Infinity 350ZX hehehehee noooooooooooooooooo

Yes, Infinity is owned by Nissan. Yes, the platform the 350 is built on is going to be shared with other models.

And YES, they are starting to all look alike!! Maybe they are all employed by the same design firm and all the automakers are using the same design firm, either that,or all the designers are all on the same prescription medication. After looking at a few of the recent "new designs" I'm thinking you can't buy whatever it is over the counter. Know what I mean Vern????? :sick:

And yes, I have been quite critical of the design of the new Z(?) but it still isn't as ugly as the Aztek, Vibe, Avalanche, and a few others. Makes you wonder why someone would name a vehicle after a disaster doesn't it??????

How about that Lexus convertible? Doesn't it look about the same? Just a thought.

My only thought for the 350 is that i hope it upholds the Z name. Perhaps the design will grow on me but right now i wouldn't buy one. Maybe it's a singular opinion but if i had the money to buy one i'd just turn around and put it into my 240. At first i did like the design, but the more cars i see that look like the 350 the more i start to dislike it and all the plastic fake looking sports cars that are coming out now. Someone please tell me why the sports cars of the 50's 60's (and early 70's of course) are so sexy and the designs they come out with today so damn butt ugly. Is history not our greatest teacher?.

The airdam on the front of the 350Z makes it look like a goldfish...swap it with the nose of the Infinity and it would look a lot better.

Ya, I totally agree with 240znz but unfortunately that huge rectangular hole in the front is sorta a Z trademark, and unfortunately the design team at Nissan thought it should be one that is carried over to the next Z

Also Mike, yes it most certainly is. The SC430 or whatever the number is... and you're right Schuma it's another of the big fat bulbous "sports" cars car manufacturers seem to think we love...

I have said all along that Nissan has shown none of the spirit of the past Z's. They should have taken a clue from Ford and how they stepped up to the plate with the new Thunderbird and got back to it's roots!! Take the original body style (a classic) and update and modify it, would of sold millions, the 350 is just another round car too me.
