Correct! :D

Funny how you get used to having that pedal. When ever I rent a car I find my foot searching for it.

Alan:

Excellent post!

Is there any way I could beg you to enlarge that accessory picture, and e-mail me a copy?

I would like to post each one of the accessories on it's own post so that everyone can discuss them. Some of them are easily discernable, but there are a couple that are very obscure. Your assistance in translating the Japanese text would be invaluable.

HS30-H.. is there anything datsun related you dont know about? :)

Short answer: YES.

Long answer: There's more I don't know than I do know. I'm still looking for answers to questions that I asked many years ago, and there are many questions that I didn't even ask yet ( probably because I don't know what these questions actually are ).

In fact, I don't even know what I don't know.

If you've got me down as any kind of guru or oracle then you are greatly mistaken.

I've said it before and I'll say it again. If anybody thinks they know everything about first-generation Z cars, and there is nothing worth knowing left to know, then they would have to be deluded, conceited and - frankly - rather sad.

Personally, I enjoy a lot of the mystery and intrigue around the cars.

Cheers,

Alan T.

Hi Enrique,

This is another one of those Lazarus-like thread revivals, isn't it?

I'll take a shot at scanning that Japanese sales catalogue accessories page, but you have to remember that the original photos and original text are very small. They might not scan up all that well.......

I applaud and support your intentions, but are you sure that the members here will be interested enough to discuss each item? The thread died pretty quickly when I posted the scan of the Japanese sales brochure, didn't it? I got the impression that it was 'Tits On A Bull' to the vast majority of members here, which is sad.

Cheers,

Alan T.

No disrespect intended, but I can only participate in a thread I feel a connection with. I am fascinated by the brochures and obscure literature I've seen posted on this site. And I have copied most of it, enlarged it and put it in my collection of Z material. But I for one dont feel it necessary to comment about something I know nothing about. I wouldnt want other members who might know about an "option" or seen a car with said "option" to think, "Jeez, what's this guy muttering about, he knows nothing."

I was fascinated with this particular thread as a matter of fact. But I made no comments because I've never seen a Z car in person since 1978 that has had this particular option.

So, I too applaud the intentions of those willing to start a discussion about any subject related to the Zed, but I'm sure I'm not alone in being one of those who just dont join the thread because they feel they have nothing to offer.

Sincerely,

Chris Abbott

I agree with you Chris.

Alan, topics like this and others are probably interesting to more people on this site than you think. I am not dissing you in anyway for what you think others think, I am just saying that you are not alone in your interests here, but sometimes all some of us can do is sit back and see what people have to say on the topics we can't really participate in. :) As you know, it is not all V8's and bodykits here. It is chrome ring headlight covers, oem footrests, and Z saving. We love the factory options!

Take care,

Ben :classic:

All he can do is post the data. People will then have the opportunity to either discuss it or not, according to their own interests. (Even if their decision makes them "deluded, conceited and - frankly - rather sad" in anyone elses eyes; or not)

Bambikiller240,

What point exactly are you trying to make with the quote above?

If you want to mix-and-match quotes from me, and then apply them to subjects that are different to those which they were originally connected with, then it kind of defeats the point I was originally trying to make. You don't agree?

The point I was trying to make on the original subject of the "Assistant's Footrest" was that the thread came to an abrupt halt when I posted some information and pics relevant to the subject matter. Neither the person who started the thread, nor any of the original posters on the thread, came back with any further comment related to the subject. It just stalled. I found that odd, that's all. Made me wonder if I'd killed it.

I thought there was a least a little more life left in the thread subject, but I was obviously mistaken.
