Os Giken TG24-B1 heads

Recommended Posts

Hi, I am sort of new to this forum but a couple of weeks ago I came across some nice heads that were produced in the past but were very rare. The pictures are located on this page http://www.datrats.com.au/PICTURES.html . They are for the L28 and turns your use to be SOHC to a new monster DOHC. I have E-mailed Enonvativ Force, an official Os Giken distributor in the states concerning, getting these heads reproduced. Here's there E-mail address Info@EnonvativForce.com. I know I would love to get my hands on a set of these heads and I bet a few others would too. Please support me on getting this idea to Os Giken's main corporation for them to consider this idea.

THANK YOU!!,

Eric

Eric,

I don't want to appear rude, but you are buying a ticket for a train that departed many years ago.........

O.S.GIKEN have had many requests over the years to reproduce these heads, but its not going to happen anytime soon. Most of the tooling and casting patterns were made from hardwood, which has warped and deteriorated over the years. Remaking everything would cost a fortune, and the heads themselves would also cost a fortune per-unit. I'm afraid there are very few people who would be willing to shell out for what they would cost............. we are talking many thousands of US Dollars each ( and I mean many.

I met the vice-President of O.S.GIKEN in Japan some years ago, and asked him all about it. Its clear that this is a project that they are not currently interested in reviving, and they have not got any unsold kits stashed under any workbenches anywhere either. They make some "O.S.Classic" parts for older cars ( piston kits, clutch kits etc ) but they don't have any plans to go any further than that.

By the way - the actual code was "TC24-B1" - not "TG", which was a misprint in the Japanese magazine article that I supplied to Errol at DatRats.

Hmmm,

I see you are blitzing the Z-related web forums with the same basic post. You'll be getting pretty much the same answers in other places too.

You might like to use the "SEARCH" facility on this site. You will find that it will link you to a great wealth of useful information.

Funny, I thought the same thing when I first got my Z too. How wonderful it would be to get a crossflow twincam head. But I did my research and found out that unless I was willing to pay a jillion bucks for a custom head it wasn't going to happen.

On a similar topic the LY crossflow heads what are they worth? And are they hard to come by?(compared to the O.S Giken).

That's a cheaper alternative for those who desperately need a crossflow head.

Personally I think the P90 is the best :) and as victor says if I need a twin cam crossflow it would be an RB motor.

I seem to remember reading somewhere (Alan will no doubt correct me on this), that the head was good for only about a 5hp gain anyway.

Is this right?

I remember reading in another thread that only something like 11 of the LY motors were ever produced, someone please correct me if i'm remembering wrong.
