Paint shop

Recommended Posts

Well one week ago I brought my 1970 240Z #11320 to the paint shops for estimates. Found a place and brought the car home and started the disassembly process. I had to work Fri Sat and Sun. This morning I towed my Z back to the paint shop with nothing on the car but suspension and wheels. It was a fun four days of taking everything off the car. I will see the car again in two months with the original orange paint. It is a shame that it will not take four days to put it back together. I just wanted everyone to know. It is going to be a long two months. Rick.

Mine took close to six weeks with one person basically working on it full time and another helping occasionally. The vast majority of the work is the preparation: repairing rust, getting everything straight, etc. Then there's a lot of priming and sanding and sealing. The actual paint job took less than a day.
