What features do you want back or added to the site?

Hi all,

I'm planning to add most of the old features back to our site, but, it would be helpful to know what you liked the most. Here's a subset of the features I'll be putting back soon:

1) Image Gallery

2) Random Image Viewer

3) Our "Mascots" on the Main Page

4) Images in the News Area

5) Re-Designed Graphic Theme (old site looked like a MacOS)

6) Upcoming Events in Main Center Block

7) Tabs for Quick Navigation

On the surface, the argument that babe-images may be offensive to women sounds reasonable. However, generally speaking and in my experience, women involved in motorsports (or any REAL sport for that matter) except these things (hot chick images) as part of the culture/environment; thicker skinned so to say. You only need to examine all the big time sports (NBA, NFL, NBL, NASCAR...ect) to realize that cheerleaders and beer-babe commercials (Viagra too) litter the scenery. F1, Moto GP, AMA, have swimsuit models addressing the drivers with umbrellas. Why should Z lovers compromise, are we any different, any better, any worse?

Having said that, you can go over board too. It's MHO that a great site such as this can tolerate a few babe-images. After all, Man does not survive by Zs alone. ---Jerry

I like that we can attach files, other than jpegs, now. I tried to upload an Excell spreadsheet and it would not let me. It will take a word document though. can this feature be modified to allow xls and othe MS Office documents.

Oh, can we attach .wav files now?

I will chime in. I have no problem with the "Z-Babes" (as you guys say) on the front page. Doesn't bother me one bit. Cars and Girls go together for some guys. I think if we add "Z-Guys" to the site to appeal to more female members then it's going to get kind of cheesy, no? Since we've updated the site why not add a group shot of various Z's from 70-78. I would be much more offended by a 350Z on the homepage than the girls . Wait........that's another thread, hehehe.

My only problem with the Zbabes on the top of the homepage is viewing the site at work, as other have mentioned. Most bosses don't mind seeing a car site or two as they walk by, but the babe stuff pushes the limits. And I do like to cruise the site during work hours.

Hi Victor,

I'm not sure about the complete list of office documents... I suppose I could change a setting and allow for the extensions ... Let me look into it. WAV files are multimedia (audio) and will be part of the gallery.

By the way, I am making progress on the gallery. :smoke:

Mike, I would be a little wary of all of those potentially macro-hiding files too. You might explore allowing coma delimited ascii as all "Office" type programs can both import and export them easlly, and they are devoid of potential problems from infection(that is not to say that Victor is infected :laugh: )

Someone had mentioned wav files, I think that would add some fun, but given Carls aptitude for finding his pictures, avitars, etc, I am truely afraid of what noises he might come up with and send out to the members computers :laugh: (especially those who peruse this site at work-though Carl is evidently in that group)

Still, it would be nice to hear some of the Z sounds from across the world!

Mike: While the quick reply box is a good thing, having to click the quick reply button before writing in the box seems to me to be a completely pointless step. Any chance you can get rid of that?
