What features do you want back or added to the site?

Hi all,

I'm planning to add most of the old features back to our site, but, it would be helpful to know what you liked the most. Here's a subset of the features I'll be putting back soon:

1) Image Gallery

2) Random Image Viewer

3) Our "Mascots" on the Main Page

4) Images in the News Area

5) Re-Designed Graphic Theme (old site looked like a MacOS)

6) Upcoming Events in Main Center Block

7) Tabs for Quick Navigation

I'm a liberal guy, but I think the zed babes at the top of the page are pretty tacky. I think they serve to be "exclusive" rather than "inclusive" and discourage females from entering this largely mature and well informed forum. In addition, it's somewhat embarrassing to log-on to this site at work or from a public PC. If I want chicks in bikinis I'll go to a porn site, god knows, there are plenty of them on the net.. ROFL Maybe we should keep it to the "zed babes" folder?

On a far less controversial topic, I used to like when there were more entries in the "active threads" section of the main page.

Other than that I think Mike needs to be congratulated for (yet another) job well done. He's been able to maintain a disciplined and well constructed forum that has supported many of us over an extended period. I've made friends and found out things about the beloved s30 (etc) that I never would have found out otherwise. Here's to you Mike!

I think there was a long and heated thread on this matter and the "boobs" clearly had the balance of the vote. This said, I didn't enter into the debate as people who voted 'no' were shouted down. Maybe if it was anonymous we'd get a different result?? I second the vote on the poll!!

I'm becoming more of the opinion that the "z-girls" are now dated and should be consigned to the "z Babes" repository.

I always had to be careful when opening the site at work due to the Z Girls image, but I managed to get by in a very conservative atmosphere. There is no nudity, bathing suits and a car; big deal.

Having said that, they have been on the Home page for quite a while. We have a member, "Go-ZRacer-Go" (or something like that, I know him as Jerry) who is a great artist. Perhaps he could come up with something for the club. He's already had several images on the Home Page, and there are examples in his gallery (oops, nevermind, gallery isn't available yet).

It's not about the pictures of females-though most of us tend to think of our Zs as females(yet another poll?)-some more personally when alone with the car in a darkened garage as I recall from a past thread, right Carl and AlphaDog?. Hmmm!

Within the past month or two prior to this upgrade we did get a few more female members chiming in. Perhapse their opinion should be asked, along with Vickys! I think Vicky has been a valuable and active member, and if we have chased off the possability of having more active members of her gender due to a photoraph on the home page, we have lost out. What we do for one, we should do for all-have a bikini page that has both male and female sections-I am sure the girls would be every bit as thrilled to have a place to share images as the guys are-but they would probably not push to have them on the home page, just somewhere quiet in the back, off the lane...

I do think that the pictures pages belong in the site, Go to any car show, and you will see men, women, and cars-hence they need to be pertinant to all of our membership by having collections to represent both genders.

I also agree that Mike has once again proven his committment to the membership of this club by putting untold hours into upgrading the site, and working to make it what the members want. I have been there and done that, it is a fulltime job in its self Thank you Mike.

I will chime in. I have no problem with the "Z-Babes" (as you guys say) on the front page. Doesn't bother me one bit. Cars and Girls go together for some guys. I think if we add "Z-Guys" to the site to appeal to more female members then it's going to get kind of cheesy, no? Since we've updated the site why not add a group shot of various Z's from 70-78. I would be much more offended by a 350Z on the homepage than the girls ROFL LOL . Wait........that's another thread, hehehe.
